Dr Heather Came-Friar and Susan De Silva offer ideas about how to work with the articles of te Tiriti and encourage you to take action to uphold te Tiriti and challenge institutional racism within your sphere of influence.

Te Tiriti is a collective responsibility for all health workers to engage with if we are going to end breaches of te Tiriti and achieve health equity in our lifetime.

There are over 100+ health-related Waitangi Tribunal claims currently before the Tribunal. These are instances where the health system has failed Māori and breached te Tiriti. The social and cultural costs of this failure are significant to all New Zealanders.

This webinar will revisit why we should care about te Tiriti and will clarify current thinking in relation to the distinction between te Tiriti, the Treaty and the Crown-defined Treaty principles.
