From 1870 to 1900 fashion changed significantly and saw the rise and fall of styles like the bustle, the "Natural Form" and the S-bend corset, which all shaped the wearer's body either naturally or artificially. This video breaks down the styles of the period, emphasizing the sartorial shifts that fashion lovers followed throughout those 30 years. We also discuss the more modern fashion designers and brands who have recreated the styles of the period in their own work like Rei Kawakubo, Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Christian Dior, Cristobal Balenciaga, Vivienne Westwood, and Yohji Yamamoto just to name a few.
