Damage worth millions of dollars has occurred. New Zealand's largest city has seen record levels of rainfall since Friday. Auckland recorded more than eight times its average January rainfall and 40% of its annual average rainfall. Prime Minister Chris Hipkins said 350 people were in need of emergency accommodation.
