Tropical Depression 2 forms in Gulf of Mexico on first day of hurricane season |

On the first day of the Atlantic hurricane season, a tropical system has officially formed in the Gulf of Mexico. What was Invest 91L has now strengthened to become Tropical Depression Two. It's not expected to hit Florida directly and instead is expected to travel south, but could still bring some rain and gusty winds to the state.
