Today I show how my current 40 items that I’m living with fit into a small backpack. I said in the description of last weeks video that should this ever be a permanent solution for travelling I would probably have nearer to 50 items as an absolute minimum. As I’d be required to need and use my passport and paperwork. Along with perhaps a few extra personal grooming items or sentimental things.

This is an eventual goal for me. As I intend to travel I think it would be very freeing to travel the world with only a very light backpack. To not feel any physical burden of belongings and just my own belonging in the world.

In the meantime for anyone who has not seen this series about my downsizing for a house share and eventual travel. I do intend to return to a 100 item inventory of belongings. Which I’ve elected as a goal to limit and approximate the amount of things I would be capable of carrying. Currently it is 100 items but as I don’t want minimalism to conversely turn into being just about the material things (even if it is a lack there of.) I will accommodate a few extra things if needs be, for instance I won’t deprive myself of something I really need . If it has to be 104 items this isn’t the end of the world. The counting of my items is only ever intended as a pragmatic way of quantifying my downsizing.

My main intention is a peaceful life, which minimalism has brought.
