Should we aim to do good, or should we aim to earn money? Buckle up for a fast-paced introduction to the multiple motivations in finance – and in life. Philosopher Henrik Syse, former Head of Corporate Governance at the Norwegian Bank Investment Management, share his insights into and experiences from merging profit and ethics. Vice Chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Henrik Syse, has been a member of the Norwegian Nobel Committee since 2015. This Nobel Committee of five appointed by the Norwegian Parliament, is responsible for the selection of eligible candidates and electing the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates.
Henrik is currently Research Professor at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) and Chief Editor (with Martin L. Cook) of the Journal of Military Ethics. He previously served as Head of Corporate Governance for Norges Bank Investment Management from 2005-2007 and was a member of the Norwegian Press Complaints Commission from 2002-2016.
