Television streaming has given viewers access to languages and cultures all across the world. Sid Thatham’s exposure to global television propelled him to understand stories for what they are told rather than how they are told. He encourages us to “make our watch history as international as our travel history.”

Sid Thatham is an Energy Engineer in the Department of Utilities and teaches on and off at the University of Cincinnati (UC). He is originally from India and moved to Cincinnati to go to grad school at UC. He graduated in 2017 with a Master's in ChemE and an MBA. Photography, tech., memes, international affairs, the outer space are among his various interests. He co-hosts podcasts on grad life and loves talking about movies and tv shows from all over the world. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
