If you've come to the conclusion that you're a porn addict. I imagine you're already feeling that it's completely out of control, or it's impacting your ability to get aroused, either on your own, or with your partner.

It's important to recognize the treatment is abstinence. It always starts with abstinence only, meaning, from that day forth, you make a decision, that you are no longer going to choose to look at pornographic images to get you aroused.

Typically, if you abstain from any erotic images from one to three months, any sexual difficulty that you might have been having, or problems eroticizing your partner tend to get rewired in the ability to once again experience, what had been, a more spontaneous arousal response.

The part that, ultimately, each person has decide, is whether or not forevermore, they can no longer look at porn, or whether in time, though, what we call moderation management, they can find a healthy balance where, occasionally, they pair pornographic images with masturbation, but they don't feel like they need to.

They certainly can still use fantasy, and they have no difficulty getting aroused with their partner. So, it's ultimately, you being your own expert to figure out how, if at all, porn can have a place in your life that feels like a healthy balance.
