That comes after a weekend victory here in the District of Columbia. But still, Donald Trump scored more wins tonight in places that could have been favorable to Haley like Virginia and Maine, with their big swaths of moderate voters. And with Trump racking up even more wins and marching toward the GOP nomination, There is even more pressure on Haley to end her campaign. She did not hold any events tonight, and as of earlier today, her campaign website did not show any upcoming rallies."

STORYLINE:
Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley scored an upset victory against former President Donald Trump, who was seeking a clean sweep of the Super Tuesday contests.

Vermont is Haley’s second presidential primary win. She also won in the District of Columbia.

Haley’s surprise victory in Vermont will do little to dent Trump’s primary dominance. The former president won 11 other states on Super Tuesday.

Haley is the last major rival to Trump standing in a once-crowded primary field. She has increasingly stepped up her attacks on the former president, arguing that he will lose in November to President Joe Biden if he clinches the party’s nomination.

The former U.N. ambassador has pegged her campaign to the biggest day of the primary season, crossing the country over the last several days to visit Super Tuesday states. But she did not hold any public events Tuesday. And she has no future campaign rallies listed on her website.

Her campaign says she's spending election night in the Charleston, South Carolina, area and watching results come in with her staff. Says the campaign: "The mood is jubilant."
