Last month’s headline inflation rate hit a new 17-year all-time high surging to 19.64% from the 18.6% recorded in the month of June this year.

One of the key drivers of this figure is food inflation caused by the rise in the prices of Bread and cereals, Food products such as potatoes, yams and other tubers, meat, fish, and oil, among others.

The continuous spike in Nigeria’s inflation rate is leaving many Nigerians barely surviving as they are struggling to keep up with rising prices for basic foods.
