The musician Daler Mehndi's appeal against his two-year prison sentence in connection with a human trafficking case that was filed against him in 2003 was dismissed by a Patiala court on Thursday. Mehndi, who was in the courtroom, was detained and imprisoned. In exchange for large "passage money," Daler Mehndi and his brother Shamsher Singh are alleged to have illegally sent individuals abroad while they were posing as members of their troupe. The brothers were found guilty in 2018 and sentenced to two years in prison by the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class. They were later granted bail and filed an appeal in the sessions court. His bail request was denied today by Additional Sessions Judge HS Grewal.
