On October 23, 2022, Brooke was invited to share at Vous Church in Miami as part of their “SEVEN” series on the seven letters to the seven churches in the biblical book of Revelation. The week Brooke visited was week 4 of the series, meaning her text was Revelation 2:18-29 - the letter to the church at Thyatira.

In this message, “Cosmic Jesus”, inspired by a chapter title in her favourite Revelation commentary “Discipleship on the Edge” by Pastor Darrell Johnson, Brooke talks about how the book of Revelation reveals a side of Jesus that speaks directly to the cosmic angst and search for cosmic relief that humanity experiences. In the letter to the church at Thyatira, Jesus has strong words for the church’s tolerance of falsehood and the compromise that results. Brooke explains why Jesus had to condemn these things in the church of 96AD and why he also calls them out in His church today. Compromise damages our soul, damages our witness and is ultimately fatal to our freedom. We must allow God’s word and truth and the love of the Father to transform us, that we might be the light in the world we are called to be. Christ calls His church not to be isolated and indignant, but sanctified and sent.
