In Bruges -- What Makes This Movie Great? (Episode 47)

video thumbnail
Martin McDonagh's 2008 directorial debut is seriously funny and deathly serious. It's about two hitmen, played by Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson, who are forced to layover in Bruges, Belgium for two weeks.

One loves Bruges, the other doesn't. Both find it remarkable -- a purgatory, a hell, a fairytale, a movie, a dream, a fantasy. Why? They both labor under heavy sin and guilt.

This video reviews and analyzes In Bruges, discussing why it is a great movie. Partly that's because of McDonagh's complex script. Partly that's because Farrell and Gleeson are so funny.
