|
Dr. Breanne Everett discusses "Medical Innovation" at TEDxYYC 2012.
Dr. Breanne Everett is the CEO and Cofounder of Orpyx, as well as a Medical Doctor and Resident in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Calgary. Early in her residency, Dr. Everett developed a keen interest in neuroplasticity, the potential for the brain to "rewire itself," and the possibility of developing medical solutions premised on this amazing potential of the human mind. Dr. Everett's clinical experience has given her ample exposure to diabetic patients requiring surgical management of diabetic foot complications. Seeing the burden these complications pose on both patients and the healthcare system, and with the primary goal of addressing these issues, she founded Orpyx in 2010. Dr. Everett is currently earning her MBA through the Haskayne School of Business. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations) |
