Secrets of The Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker is a book that talks about changing your mindset in order to become wealthy. In this video I am going to go over the top 5 ideas that I want you to know by reading this book.

1. Mind is a File Cabinet 00:50
All the memories in your mind are like files
These help you survive NOT THRIVE
You need to work to have files that have you THRIVE
when making financial decisions. Go to your money file decide what to do. You can do only what you know. If you have files in your cabinet that make you make bad financial decisions, that is all you can do.
You must install good financial files in your mind so you can thrive financially. Wife example: buying a green bag to match green shoes she has
its 25% discount. What she should do: I’m not going to buy this if I’m in debt
I should budget for this if I want it. What she’ll do: It looks good, matches my green bag, I’ll buy it Made bad financial decision because did not have good financial file installed
Got to install good files that support desire to get rich

We are identical to one or both of our parents when it comes to making financial decisions
Because this is true we must acknowledge what we have subconsciously learned from our parents
Change the bad habits they taught us or we will suffer, because we are repeating their same bad habits!

He would continue subconsciously follow this pattern for 10 years until he realized he was unconsciously following his dad’s pattern

2. Ideas Have Consequences 04:34
“No thought lives in your head rent free”
Each thought is either:
An investment or a cost
A step toward success or a step away from success
Empower you or disempower you
Adopt beliefs that support you becoming rich Thoughts lead to, feelings lead to, actions lead to resultsFocus on Rich Beliefs to create the results rich people create

Poor people think in terms of “either or” SCARCITY
Rich People think in terms of “both and” ABUNDANT MINDSET
successful career or happy family BOTH
focus on business or have fun and play BOTH
money in wallet or meaning in your life BOTH
Look for creative ways to get both out of life Live the life you want I thought of this before reading book. This solidifies my ideas

4. Earn What You’re Worth 07:47
Can’t get rich from a steady paycheck. Get paid based on efforts. Get Paid on Percentage This is how rich people prefer to get paid
you can do this by Starting a business Joining a multi-level marketing company Ask your boss to change your job to a contract position

Result: make more money, take advantage of tax advantages, more freedom because money is not linked to time worked
Keeps you motivated to want to succeed because you will earn more
I have experience doing this at my current airport job

5. SIX Accounts = Financial Freedom 10:00
Use these 6 accounts to achieve financial freedom
Needs 50% bills, utilities, food
Long Term Savings 10% emergency savings, buy a home
Education 10% coaching, books, courses
Charity 10% donations, tithes
Financial Freedom Account 10% investing, passive income
Play 10% spoiling yourself, leisure expenses

You need balance!
Yes save and invest
BUT
Its important to spend
If you don’t do this you may sabotage overall results
Spending only = guilt bad = not fun
Saving only = no fun= feel bad = overspend
Play account
Once a month splurge go to spa, rent house on the beach, go to a fancy dinner
Get experience of being rich to strengthen the receiving muscle
Also reward yourself for being financially responsible

Overall this is a good book and I recommend it. To be fair there is one thing I would change about this book the idea of being spiritual, and asking the universe for money and opportunities.
