I wanted to add an NFC reader to my home automation setup using MQTT. There's a number of cool projects that can be built from this...things from home automation to enabling kids and others to do tasks such as turn on/off lights. I could walk in and put my keys down to start up my favorite music, turn on lights, and read the news/weather report. I can start video games, theme a room, and many other things. But first...I need a device that will send that NFC tag wirelessly out to an MQTT server. This project shows how to build just that!

This uses MQTT to send the NFC UID wirelessly over the air to a broker. Then another device can subscribe to those messages and respond to them.
