Dr. Kevin Anderson, Professor of Sociology, Political Science, and Feminist Studies at University of California in Santa Barbara, speaking at the First International Erich Fromm Research Conference in June 2014 at the International Psychoanalytic University in Berlin.

For Anderson, holder of the Erich Fromm prize 2000, Fromm's persistent dialogue with Marx during the last two decades of his life constituted a turn in his thought.
