북한 예술단 점검단 방남
After a last-minute cancellation then one-day postponement,.....a group of North Koreans finally arrived in the South this morning.
They are here to check on preparations at the venues where North Korean artists will perform for the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
Our Kim Hyesung reports.
The North Korean delegation arrived in South Korea at around nine a.m. Sunday.
This marks the first time in two years that the inter-Korean route has been used... since the Kaesung Industrial Park was shut down back in 2016.
The seven-member delegation is led by Hyon Song-wol, the head of the North's Samjiyon, a 140-member art group that will perform twice during the PyeongChang Winter Olympics next month.
In the afternoon, the delegation arrived in the eastern city of Gangneung to inspect performance venues there... and coordinate concert schedules and content.
They will return to Seoul Monday to look at three or four possible concert venues in the capital and fine tune performance details before heading back to the North.

In another development, the North sent a letter Sunday to the South's Unification Ministry, agreeing to have an advance team from South Korea visit the North from Tuesday to Thursday and review logistics for joint events to be held at the Mount Kumgang Resort and the Masikryong Ski Resort.
If South Korea makes the visit, it will be the first one since the Moon Administration took office last May.
In addition, the North has offered to send another eight-member advance team to South Korea this coming Thursday to look at Olympics facilities, including the stadium and accomodations.
