This is a comparison of two popular Sole treadmills: the Sole F80 and Sole F85. The F80 starts at $1500 while the F85 starts at $1800. These 5 star rated models offer similar cushioning and shock absorption and have the same size size (22”x60”) running area. These models are also equipped with a convenient folding design, and provide an incline offering that ranges from 0 to 15%, and speeds from 0 to 12 mph. Neither have interactive training, but both provide cooling fans built into the consoles. The F80 is equipped with a slightly less powerful motor, a 3.5 continuous HP motor, in comparison to the 4.0 continuous HP motor of the F85. The displays vary mostly in size, with the F80 offering a 7.5” LCD screen that is beat out by the larger 9” LCD display screen of the F85. The weight capacities vary by just 15 pounds, with the F85 providing a 400 pound weight capacity and the F80 with a 375 pound capacity. The program variety of these machines is also only slightly different with the F80 offering 8 programs and the F85 offering 7 programs. Overall, the size of these machines is very similar, as with most features in this comparison. The F80 is shorter and narrower than the F85. And coming to the warranty offering, the F80 wins. While both models offer a lifetime of coverage on the frame, motor and drive systems, only the F80 offers 5 years coverage on electronics (the F85 offers just 3 years on electronics). |
