This console wears a smart, little secondary display beneath the main interface that shows calories, distance, and time—the three things I want to know. I gotta rejoice in its other conveniences, like the preset resistance buttons, quick start option, and manual resistance and incline. The other functions, unfortunately, where harder for me to operate right away. I’m not the type to read directions first, so I was lost, fiddling with buttons to create a user profile and choose a workout program. But that’s an easy-ish fix: Just read the manual. They could have simplified the assortment of on-screen graphics and statistical readouts. There are a few too many bars and graphs and percentages trying to communicate a single idea: Progress. But that’s another easy-ish fix: Make the nifty, simple secondary display screen your focal point.
