Who has played the Most Grand Slam finals since the Open Era?

The Grand Slam tournaments, also known as "Majors", are the four most prestigious annual tennis events: Australian Open, French Open (Roland Garros), Wimbledon and US Open.

The period taken into account is the Open Era, which began in the spring of 1968.

Only players who have played at least 3 finals are listed.

Some players won major titles before the open era, so their record may be different.

Novak Djokovic - 33 finals:
Novak Djokovic is one of the most accomplished players in tennis history. The Serbian has won 22 Grand Slam titles, a record that places him with the Spaniard Rafael Nadal at the top of the list of male players who have won the most Grand Slam titles. Djokovic has reached the final of every Grand Slam at least five times, including 10 Australian Open titles, seven Wimbledon titles, three US Open titles and two French Open titles.

Roger Federer - 31 Finals:
Roger Federer is without a doubt one of the greatest players of all time. The Swiss has won 20 Grand Slam titles, a record that places him third on the list of men with the most Grand Slam titles. He has played in 31 Grand Slam finals.
Federer has reached the final of every Grand Slam at least five times, and has won at least five titles at the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the US Open.

Rafael Nadal - 30 finals:
Rafael Nadal is another legendary player who has won 22 Grand Slam titles in his career. The Spaniard is best known for his success on clay, where he has won 14 of his 22 Grand Slam titles. Nadal has reached the French Open final 14 times, winning the title 14 times. In addition to his clay court accomplishments, Nadal has also won two Australian Open titles, four US Open titles and two Wimbledon titles.

Ivan Lendl - 19 finals
The former Czech-American professional tennis player, reached a total of 19 Grand Slam finals during his career. He won 8 Grand Slam titles, including two at the Australian Open (1989, 1990), three at the US Open (1985, 1986 and 1987) and three at the French Open (1984 and 1986-1987). He also reached two Wimbledon finals, but never won the title on the London turf. Lendl is considered one of the best tennis players in history and was ranked number one in the world for a total of 270 weeks, a record at the time.

Pete Sampras - 18 finals:
Pete Sampras is considered one of the greatest players in tennis history. The American won 14 Grand Slam titles in his career, including seven at Wimbledon. Sampras reached the US Open final eight times, winning five titles, and also won two Australian Open titles.
