Two years ago last August I bought a little rebounder on Amazon for about $35. I wanted to do an exercise that I could do even if I was not feeling well. So long as I could stand I was able to bounce on the mini-trampoline as lightly or as vigorously as I felt the need.
I had read about some studies done by Nasa that said jumping on a trampoline rehabilitated astronauts that were weak with atrophied muscles from months in weightless space better than any other form of exercise.
I also read that constant movement activated the lymph system to keep the body's cells healthy and improve the immune system.
After the initial weeks of using the rebounder, it developed into a habit. I now bounce every morning upon waking before any other activity and it feels good.
In the morning as the time spent bouncing increases and I wake up more I begin to bounce more vigorously. If I notice any pains I reduce the amount of exertion the next day.
I read a lot of the Amazon rebounder reviews and several people claim they hurt themselves jumping on the rebounder, primarily their back. I suggest if you are going to be jumping and doing aerobics you may want to buy a more expensive rebounder as this one is small and stiff. However, it is very durable and low cost if you are just doing bouncing like I have been doing.
If you have trouble with balance you can purchase rebounders with bars on the side to assist your balance. I will be adding PVC bars to mine in a future DIY video.
The rebounder came with a counter the counts the bounces but it made an annoying noise so I removed it. The little trampoline also came with two rubber cords that are supposed to assist in doing exercises but I have never used them in 2 years.
I made a video about the rebounder a few months after I got it to show how it is opened. I use it and store it by simply leaning against the wall. I have had no wear issues using it daily for two years.
