Still Craving Validation of Your Reality After Narcissistic Abuse? C- PTSD Recovery

The craving is to have your truth validated. So, you have your truth that this person (narcissist) is doing a lot of damage and the reason you are suffering emotionally is because of this narcissistic relationship. You deeply understand and know that. There's a craving for that truth to be proven and that comes from the fact that your truth has always been denied and invalidated so you have, if this relationship has been going on for a long time, you have years of invalidated truth that needs to be accepted and proven. Here's the thing though, heres the mistake that many narcissistic victims make (those with narcissistic victim syndrome) the first thing people do when they have this craving is try to prove their truth to the toxic person or to people that are in their life in that moment. And it's understandable - because there's nothing worse than having the people in your immediate life seeing things in a way that is so warped and so far from reality. So it's understandable however I call it a mistake because if you are trying to prove to a narcissist that you're not crazy and that it is actually THEM - trying to convince a narcissist to look at themselves and accept your reality and to negate their reality - is asking the impossible. If that person is high on the scale of NPD that is something they are not willing to do.
