Dr. Timm Dickfeld, a cardiac electrophysiologist from the University of Maryland Medical System, studied EKGs of the first patient worldwide to receive a pig heart transplant. Dickfeld discusses how electricity travels differently through a pig heart and what researchers learned over a 60-day period. He and others from UMMS presented their findings at the American Heart Association’s 2022 Scientific Sessions.
