Darksword Armory - How ARE Darksword Armory's swords made ? |
|
Darksword Armory is a Canadian based manufacturer of Medieval Swords, specialising in European culture between the 4th and 17th C. on January 4th, a video crew came to Darksword Armory's workshop to film a production of Viking and Norman blades.
NOTE: it should be noted that two segments in the film were shot for dramatic effect. From 3:35-3:40 we purposely burned a stock bar to create a still image of a blade being forged with excessive sparks. This requires a blade that has been heated to a very high temperature. The second segment is the quenching at 4:50 to 5:10. When quenching, you should quench the blade in oil and keep it dipped. Do not raise and dip in rotation as shown. We did this for dramatic effect to exaggerate the flames in the video. We would like to thank our fans and following for allowing us to continue working on our passion.
