Wedding DJ Day-Of Script and Playlists to Stay Organized and Crush your Weddings! |
|
Here's a look at my mobile DJ wedding planning and execution process -- specifically the associated documents I produce and the playlists I build. This is the formula I use each time to deliver the perfect wedding ceremony and reception for my couples.
To start everything off, I use a simple spreadsheet / planning template that I complete with the couple during our consultation -- usually 4-6 weeks before the wedding. About a week before I prepare a "day-of script" which contains the time line, song selections, announcements, V.I.P.s, vendors, setup details, etc. in the order that I will execute on the big day. I always bring a few copies of the abridged script for other vendors. Also, I build a folder in Rekordbox DJ for the wedding event, with specific playlists for each portion of the wedding. This keeps tracks easy to locate quickly, helps me ensure to play all (or most!) of the requested songs, and reduces any stress of trying to find tracks during the event.
