PFAS Webinar - Oct. 31, 2019

video thumbnail
WE ACT for Environmental Justice partnered with the Fountain Valley Clean Water Coalition and the Environmental Working Group to create this webinar to educate frontline communities about the risks of PFAS, a group of chemicals commonly used in the manufacture of products that resist grease, oil, and water – such as non-stick pans, microwave popcorn bags, raincoats, cosmetics, etc. PFAS have been linked to a number of health issues, and the public – and policymakers – are just starting to become aware of the widespread threat these harmful chemicals pose. The presenters included Lubna Ahmed, Director of Environmental Health at WE ACT for Environmental Justice; Mark Favors, Director of Political Outreach at Fountain Valley Clean Water Coalition; and Tasha Stoiber, Senior Scientist at Environmental Working Group.
