The Hyundai Veloster is already the most exciting model in the Hyundai line-up, and they've just turned that spunk up another notch with the limited edition Street Turbo.

They're only making 200 examples, and Hyundai is throwing $3000 worth of features at it for just an extra $240 over the regular SR Turbo +.

Key Street Turbo details include lightweight Rays alloys, the unique 'Dazzling Blue' paintwork, a bunch of black body details, Xenon headlights and Street badges.

The inside also gets blue seatbelts, seat trim and a few other details and unique floor mats.

The Street doesn't get any more power than the regular Turbo, but the boosted 1.6-litre already makes good easy power, without being too much of a threat to your licence, and you can get the Street with a manual or the dual clutch auto.

The Veloster is a clear cut above any other Hyundai in the handling and drive experience stakes, but still won't trouble any of the European hot hatches for outright dynamics.

Take it away from the racetrack though, and it's surprisingly comfortable around town and on long highway journeys.

It also does a remarkable job of matching sporty looks with practicality, with a good sized boot and back seat that's easy to access through the surprise third door on the left hand side.

The Veloster is already good, but the Street Turbo just adds a smidge of uniqueness that makes it feel that little bit more special.
