The Zimmer Persona (knee implant) was recalled on March 12, 2015. The implants are prone to loosening, resulting in severe pain for the patient and a subsequent need for revision surgery. According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the manufacturer received “an increase in complaints of loosening and radiolucent lines.”
