In its December 2016 update, Sarasota Memorial remains the only hospital in Florida with the federal government’s 5-Star Rating for quality and safety. Just 2 percent of hospitals evaluated by the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) earned the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ government’s 5-Star rating in its latest overall quality and safety review. Sarasota Memorial is one of just 83 hospitals out of 4,598 nationally to receive an overall 5-star rating in the December 2016 update to CMS' Hospital Compare website.
