No dia 16 de Julho de 1945 a primeira bomba atômica da história foi explodida no chamado Teste Trinity. Ela foi o resultado de anos de trabalho na maior iniciativa científica e militar vistas até então, o Projeto Manhattan. Esse documentário conta a história de como físicos se deram conta de que a fissão nuclear poderia ser usada para criar uma bomba nuclear e mudar para sempre a história da humanidade.
