The Mazda 3 is one of the most popular small cars in Australia. 14,000 Aussies bought one in 2021 - slightly more than the CX-30 SUV that it shares a platform with. But you can get a better Mazda 3 for a lot less than a CX-30 of the same spec level - so is this a bit of a hack? Should you buy the new Mazda 3 Evolve SP?

The Mazda 3 is a competitor to the Hyundai i30, Kia Cerato, Toyota Corolla, Volkswagen Golf, Honda Civic and other small cars.

It is available with a 2.0-litre petrol or 2.5-litre petrol, but sadly we do not get the Mazda 3 turbo AWD in Australia.
