Shreyas lyer believes the upcoming IPL season will prove to be one of his most important assignments as captain. Delhi Capitals players, including Shreyas Iyer,Rabada Rishabh Pant and Shikhar Dhawan, were recently seen hitting the nets for a training session ahead of the IPL 2020 season. Rishabh Pant, Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane will all be joined by Ishant Sharma, Shreyas lyer and Ravichandran Ashwin in their Delhi Capitals IPL 2020 line-up. Additionally, several existing and new overseas recruits like Marcus Stoinis, Alex Carey, Anrich Nortje and Sandeep Lamichhane are expected to arrive later.
Ponting had arrived in UAE last week and oversaw the first training session of the Delhi Capitals players after spending six days in quarantine. He had arrived later than the rest of the squad that came from India.DC said that Ponting met the squad and conducted the training session at the 1CC Academy in Dubai. The rest of the team, meanwhile, had started training last week on Saturday. "We are very excited about this season and our team has improved a lot from the last season. We have a complete squad and have picked some experienced players in Ravichandran)Ashwin, Ajinkya Rahane, Alex Carey and Shimron Hetmyer," the former batsman had told IANS. "We already had Kagiso Rabada and Ishant ma; now we have Anrich Nortje as well. The new players make this side very balanced this year. We played well last year also, and that confidence will help the players this season."
