Strange Brew: Part 8: Manufacturing an Ogre

The STRANGE BREW Series is an ongoing examination of the weird symbiosis of GOP Politics, Big Business, and Evangelical Christianity during the presidential administration of Donald Trump, which is affecting a wide swath of US issues including the climate change and ecological crises debates, public education, economics, civil rights, social justice, and even gun rights and gun control.

The first four episodes of the series discuss the features of this strange brew that have been observed starting with Trump’s entry in 2015 into the race for the presidency and going clear up to the present. Starting with episode 5 the series goes back in time, starting all the way back to a century ago and moving forward eventually to the present, investigating the unusual and unexpected historical origins of the merging of right-wing politics, libertarian economics, and conservative Evangelical Christianity that characterizes both the current Republican party and the presidential administration of Donald Trump.
