Alice Rohrwacher, our 2016 Filmmaker in Residence with Jaeger-LeCoultre, recalls the first movie she ever saw in a theater, Look Who's Talking, and the importance of protecting theaters as a space for shared experiences.

NYFF Soft Focus is created by Jeff Reichert & Farihah Zaman. The interviews were shot on a 1986 Jupiter-9 85mm vintage Russian lens, known for its swirly bokeh, which gives the videos their distinctive look.
