Get On With It | Whitney LaValle | TEDxYouth@Conejo

video thumbnail
When Whitney was in sixth grade, a combination of an incredibly damaging concussion, early-onset Alzheimer's, and an array of blood diseases changed her mother from a Harvard graduate into a struggling victim. Years later, Whitney’s aunt told her, "you'll never get over it; you have to get on with it." She then realized that her entire life needed to change--immediately. By explaining her experiences, Whitney hopes she can help even one person out of his or her own struggle by a similar philosophy.

Whitney sees herself working as a research scientist to help prevent brain afflictions such as those that affected her mother. By doing so, she hopes to help further humankind’s understanding of the brain. She hopes to study Neuroscience or Cognitive Science in the future.
