Storyline :-
Tensions run high in Kashmir after the partition circa late 1940s. On the Indian side, two waring hoodlums, Ahmed[ Manmohan Krishna] and Aslam[I S Johar], have another reason to fight over with - beautiful Salma[Sonia Sahani], the daughter of Hakim Mohammad Hussein[D.K. Sapru]. Salma is attracted to Aslam, but wants him to mend his ways, he heeds her advise, joins the army, and returns back as a Home Guard. When his mom, Zainab, goes to talk to Hussein about their marriage, she is killed by raiders disguised as Darvashi's (Islamic Holy men) from Pakistan, who also kill all of Salma's family, and abduct her. Aslam decides to track them down, arrange for the release of Salma, marry her, and bring the killers to justice. What Aslam [ I.S. Johar] does not know is that one of the killers is none other than Maula Khan - his Pakistan-based paternal cousin. Inder Sen Johar (16 February 1920 – 10 March 1984) born in Tollagannj, British India, better known as I. S. Johar, was an Indian actor, writer, producer and director.
known for Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Johny Mera Naam (1970) & Death on the Nile (1978).
He completed MA degree in Economics and Politics before completing his LLB. In 1947, during the Partition crisis, Johar was visiting Patiala with his family for a wedding, when riots broke out back home in Lahore. He could never go back, and thereafter he worked in Jalandhar for a while, and his family remained in Delhi,[3] before he eventually moved to Bombay, where he made his acting debut with Roop K Shorey's, Ek Thi Ladki (1949).
