Goodbye, Metop A

The time has come to deorbit Europe’s first weather satellite in polar orbit, Metop-A. From today, 15 November 2021, the satellite will be taken out of service. This animation demonstrates the process of the deorbit, until it eventually disintegrates into the atmosphere.
