Leicester Walk: Outside King Power Stadium | Leicester City F.C.【4K】 |
|
We take a quick tour around the King Power Stadium, home to Leicester City Football Club. It has been their home ground since 2002, initially known as the Walkers Stadium. At a capacity of over 32,000 it is, at the time of writing, the 19th largest football stadium in England.
The stadium opened in 2002 to replace Leicester's former ground, Filbert Street, which was just up the road. The four stands are the North Stand, East Stand, South Stand and West Stand. Zero points for originality there! By a slight oversight on my part I came to Leicester on a Saturday, and the stewards were out in force to deny access to the South and West Stand, since it was match day and less than two hours before kick-off. HOW TO GET TO THE STADIUM: If arriving into Leicester by train, the stadium is a 20-25 minute walk away via pedestrian-friendly roads. I do mostly 4K walking tours of town and city centres. During my travels I have done videos on Premier League football stadium exteriors like this one. Typically I post these as occasional Sunday bonus videos to complement my main content.
