It’s a form of contraception taken after the intercourse, for example when the condom slid off. It reduces the risk of insemination and pregnancy. For it to work contraceptive it must be taken as soon as possible (maximally 2 to 5 days after the intercourse). That’s why in almost all of EU countries it’s available without prescription. Since for period of time in Poland you need a prescription.
