The COVID-19 pandemic has amplified the need for emergency support systems that can serve the needs of those most vulnerable in our communities. This includes the nearly one-million Canadians living with a diagnosable eating disorder – and the millions of others who are struggling with food and weight preoccupation.
At UHN, we believe that through open, supportive dialogue and world-leading science, we can help break the shame, stigma and silence that affect those living with eating disorders. In partnership with the National Eating Disorders Information Clinic (NEDIC), our specialists are at the forefront of this fight, offering a life-saving helpline and prevention-based outreach and education programming to help provide essential coping tools to deal with the ongoing and ever changing nature of the pandemic. Join us to learn how specialists at UHN and NEDIC have pivoted in the face of the pandemic to provide virtual community outreach for those most in need.
