Family Business as a Vocation | Raphael Nicolai Gamboa | TEDxUPV

If we do not take care to preserve our history, we do not only lose a vital link to our past. We also risk repeating the mistakes of our ancestors and we may even forget who we are. So let’s remember our history, let’s preserve whatever we can, and let’s keep these links to our past alive. So that we do not ever forget where we came from, we do not ever forget how we got to where we are now, and so that we know how to get to where we want to go.
Nico Uytiepo Gamboa is a fifth-generation member of a family business and heritage advocate. Born and raised in Bacolod City but with deep Ilonggo roots. Nico considers himself just your average old-fashioned Ilonggo guy. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
