video thumbnail
Carlos Caballero, Colombian. Social -- Tech entrepreneur, leader of a project developed by a group of researchers with large experience in the world of renewable energy focused in the generation of mechanical energy from sea waves. He is business developer of Seabreath ®, the first Italian project for the production of energy from sea waves with a Multi Absorbing Wave Energy Converter (MAWEC) that utilizes the OWC (Oscillating Water Column) technology and eco-friendly design. His dream is to "Create an ecosystem of marine parks with the generation of cost-effective clean energy in the developing countries with energy deficit and with high levels of pollution caused by intensive use of fossil fuels, such as some Caribbean Islands (Eg Haiti, Dominican Republic), the African Coasts and in the Pacific Coast of Colombia, making a positive contribution on reducing CO2 emissions and climate change effects. This dream is coming true with Seabreath ® and with the interest of support received by public and private entities to develop and fine-tuning the technology in the sea.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
