Jeff Kinney, author of the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series, talked to children about his career and how he became an illustrator of children's books. He talked about his newest book, "The Diary of A Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul."

Speaker Biography: Jeff Kinney was born in 1971 in Maryland and attended the University of Maryland where he created his first comic strip for the campus newspaper. He knew he wanted to be a cartoonist but was frustrated that he couldn't find a syndicator for his college cartoon series. He turned to an idea for a book about a "wimpy" kid and after six years finally landed a contract for the first in the series. There are more than 150 million copies of the series in print. In the spring of 2015 he built a children's book store, renovated from the landmark Falk's Market in his hometown of Plainville, Mass., where he lives with his family.
