Its originator is believed to be Aghornath God Shiva himself. The idol of Rudra is called Aghora or Mangalamayi in the Shvetashvatropanishad. The word Aghori means towards light. Also, this word is also considered pure and free from all evils. - Aghori wants to completely merge himself in Shiva. One of the five forms of Shiva is 'Aghor'.
