British Columbia’s top medical official announced B.C. recorded 77 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the provincial total to 348.
Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said there are now 22 people in hospital as a result of the novel coronavirus, 10 of them in intensive care. Since the outbreak, British Columbia has recorded nine deaths related to COVID-19. Six people have now fully recorded. Henry added a number of healthcare workers across the province have also tested positive for the virus, but said none have faced serious illness.
