Applications for Special Votes will close at midnight. Those who wish to apply for special votes at the IEC offices have until 5pm to do so. There are two categories of special votes - the first are home visits for those registered voters who are infirm or have impaired mobility. The second category is available to any registered voter who wishes to vote early at their voting station.

The ANC has ordered former president Jacob Zuma to appear before the party's National Disciplinary Committee on Tuesday after being suspended for joining the uMkhonto Wesizwe party late last year. In the notice, Zuma is informed that he faces two counts of contravening the ANC Constitution.

Johannesburg Emergency Services have confirmed that the M1 South double-decker highway near Braamfontein, is safe for traffic after a fire on Wednesday. City Power says the fire was caused by the attempted theft of cables in the underground tunnels.
