In this AP Daily: Live Review session, we will focus on final preparations for exam day. We will provide an overview of what to expect on exam day and give students test-taking strategy tips related to each exam section.
By using previously released AP US History Exam free-response questions, we will simulate the exam day experience by demonstrating how to approach each section in the order they will appear on the actual exam. The multiple-choice part of the video includes a few sample questions to help demonstrate strategies for breaking down the stimulus and prompt and eliminating wrong answer choices. The short-answer question part of the video includes each of the three styles of prompts and will emphasize strategies for responding to each type of question. The document-based question part of the video includes strategies for sorting documents to create sound thesis claims and for effectively using them as evidence in the body paragraphs to prove the essay’s argument claims. The long essay question part of the video includes strategies for developing a strong argument supported by evidence in a well-organized essay.
