Triathletes need to focus on speed if they want to not just get faster, but finish even long distance triathlons like half-ironman 70.3s and full ironman triathlons. Triathlon Taren starts the day with a hard negative split tempo run that was put on his triathlon training plan by Coach Pat, he then explains how triathletes can use track running, fartlek runs, negative split runs, and interval running to increase their speed and where they should incorporate each of the workouts throughout a triathlon training program. Finally, towards the end of the day Triathlon Taren does a hard interval cycling workout.
