Veritas Press Bible Curriculum Review Pros and Cons |
|
The Veritas Press Bible courses cover the entire Bible, breaking it down into parts for second through sixth graders.
The five year curriculum helps children learn a total of one hundred and sixty Bible events. It was designed to incorporate the Scriptures with world history to help students see God’s plan in the world. The Veritas Press Bible curriculum is a straightforward way to teach your children the Bible. It provides a flexible basis for studying the Scriptures. Each week there is a card summarizing the chapter or chapters to be discussed. This includes images and where is fits in history. There is a fantastic variety of tasks for students to complete, including review questions, essays, charts, puzzles, even dramas to act out. There is also a song to help children memorize the events found in the Bible in chronological order; even parents will learn and benefit from this part of the course because it is repeated daily. Each component of the program is sold separately; this gives you the choice to only buy the parts you will use and have money by skipping the rest. The optional teaching manual is a great help. It not only includes the answers to the work pages, but also the lyrics to the song, suggestions for teaching, and interesting hands on projects to keep gets engaged. This program is designed for people who follow the reformed Protestant religion; you would have to modify some parts of the program if you are part of a different sect of Christianity, but this should not be hard to do. The teaching manual is sold separately. This is unfortunate because not all people are natural teachers and if you are included in that group, you will have to pay extra money for the guide. If you are unhappy with your child’s understanding on the Bible or are simply looking for a fun and effective way to teach the Scriptures, the Veritas Press Bible program is for you. Integrating Biblical events with historic facts help make the stories of God’s word more real for the students. They will greatly enjoy Bible study with this course. |
